TERMS AND CONDITIONS BOOKING GUIDECOMPANIET

These general conditions of contract (“Agreement”) govern the contractual relationship between customers (“You”) who use our services to purchase Tours (“Tour”) through www.guidecompaniet.no. (“Site”) and GUIDECOMPANIET AS (Norwegian organization number 981173562) in respect of guided Tours organized by GUIDECOMPANIET AS and performed by its guides.

You must read this Agreement before booking a Tour. This contract is concluded once GUIDECOMPANIET AS has accepted a booking. You have to confirm the booking made in writing (email or via the internet). By booking a Tour, You warrant that You understand, agree to and accept all terms and conditions contained here.

You agree that Norwegian law applies to this Agreement, as well as all to other legal concerns between You and GUIDECOMPANIET AS.

GUIDECOMPANIET AS reserves the right to make changes to all conditions and Agreements.

1. TERMS OF PAYMENT

Payment for guided Tours organized by GUIDECOMPANIET AS is due in advance. You can pay by credit card (Visa or Mastercard). All prices are quoted included Norwegian VAT (MVA).

Online payments via the Site may only be made at the time of booking. Payments will be made through a secure environment. GUIDECOMPANIET AS uses a third-party service to process Your credit card information and does not store credit card details. You hereby agree to hold GUIDECOMPANIET AS harmless for any damages that may result should any personal information about You be released by any third parties.

2. ALTERATION AND CANCELLATION BY YOU

You are responsible for providing accurate, timely and complete information in connection with booking any Tour. Alteration includes changes to dates, times, and numbers of participants of confirmed Tours. Any cancellation by You must be made by e-mail only and acknowledged by GUIDECOMPANIET AS. Cancellation made by phone to GUIDECOMPANIET will not be considered a valid cancellation.

Cancellation and alteration received and acknowledged by GUIDECOMPANIET, will be made on the following basis:

  • All tickets are non-refundable: No refund will be given for any portions of the tour after booking, regardless of circumstances.

  • You can make changes including date, time and number of participants up to 7 days prior to the tour departure: If a tour is scheduled to depart in less than 7 days, we will not change a traveler's departure date and will not offer a refund.

Waiting time:

The maximum waiting time of the guides is 10 minutes. In the event of a late arrival/no show (more than 10 minutes) the tour will depart without the client and GUIDECOMPANIET will make no refund.

For cruise ship passengers:

  • We guarantee to get you back to your ship in time

  • Our head office is located on the Cruise Pier in Stavanger

  • We guarantee to be cheaper than the cruise lines on a like for like basis

If you are travelling with a cruise ship to Norway and the ship for some reason is not able to port in the destination where you booked a tour, we will refund your ticket if you cancel the excursion up to 48 hours before tour start.

3. ALTERATION AND CANCELLATION BY GUIDECOMPANIET

Bookings confirmed by GUIDECOMPANIET will be allocated suitably qualified guides to meet the client’s requirements.

GUIDECOMPANIET reserves the right to substitute guides as necessary, the replacement guide being of equal qualification.

Tour programs may be altered in unforeseeable circumstances. GUIDECOMPANIET will do all it can to offer alternative, equally satisfactory arrangements or another solution in such cases.

GUIDECOMPANIET is entitled to cancel Tours in cases of force majeure (e.g. natural catastrophes, unrest, strikes) or in the event of government action, accidents, technical defects etc. Amounts already paid will be reimbursed.

4. RISK AND LIABILITY

You acknowledge that all travel involves an element of risk. You hereby assume all such risk by You, Your estate, Your family, heirs and assigns hereby release GUIDECOMPANIET and its guides from all claims and causes of action whatsoever arising from any injury, death or other damages, both pecuniary and non-pecuniary, to You that may occur as a result of Your participation in the Tours offered by GUIDECOMPANIET or as a result of the negligence of any party, including the guide or any employee, officer, agent, contractor or assign of GUIDECOMPANIET, whether such negligence is passive or active.

Under no circumstances will GUIDECOMPANIET be liable to You for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from any provision of this Agreement or from the provision of any Tours purchased from the Site. Furthermore, the total liability of GUIDECOMPANIET arising with respect to this Agreement and the Site shall in no event exceed the total amounts paid by You to GUIDECOMPANIET under this Agreement.

5. INSURANCE

You are strongly encouraged to obtain suitable medical insurance prior to booking a Tour, as well as cancellation insurance. You must carry proof of valid travel insurance, covering all registered participants of Your booking and all activities and risks, as well as all geographic regions related to Your Tour with GUIDECOMPANIET for the total duration of the Tour. GUIDECOMPANIET may ask to present such proof prior to and during the Tour.
